Sophomore Ethan Ng shot a final round 4-under 67 to record his first career top 20 showing. He shot a total of 220 to place 18th overall at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational in North Plains, Oregon on Tuesday.
David Snyder shot a 1-under 70 to finish the tournament with an 8-under 215 to place fourth and help the Stanford men's golf team place ninth overall with a total of 855. Oklahoma won the tournament with a 49-under 823.
"We had a mixed bag this week in terms of scoring, but this early in the season it's all about experience and lessons learned," said Knowles Family Director of Men's Golf Conrad Ray. "Our guys hard and it was nice to see Ethan Ng have his first Top 20, plus great to see David Snyder display some great senior leadership with his fourth-place finish. There is a lot of good golf ahead for this team and our sights are set on good prep for The Big Match vs. Cal next week."
Stanford, which meets California at the Menlo Country Club on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Henry Shimp fired a 4-over 75 to finish 57th with an overall score of 231, Daulet Tuleubayev finished with a 232, goof for 59th. Freshman Barclay Brown was73rd with a 239.
