2020 WGC-Mexico Championship Fantasy golf rankings, best expert picks: Fade Webb Simpson, back Paul Casey - CBS Sports

Distance will be critical this week as the world's top golfers compete at high altitude in the 2020 WGC-Mexico Championship outside Mexico City. The 72-player, no-cut tournament begins on Thursday from Club de Golf Chapultepec, which is 7,400 feet above sea level, 2,000 feet higher than Denver. The altitude could favor bombers like Dustin Johnson, who won this event last year and in 2017, along with world No. 1 Rory McIlroy, who finished second last year. But where should both players be in your Fantasy golf rankings for WGC-Mexico 2020?

Beyond the heavyweights, though, who should you consider for your Fantasy golf picks when the first 2020 WGC-Mexico Championship tee times begin on Thursday at 12:03 p.m. ET? Before you finalize your lineups, check out the latest Fantasy golf rankings from data scientist Rick Gehman.

Gehman is fading Webb Simpson, who finished a combined 36 strokes off the pace the past two years at Chapultepec. Simpson enters this year's tournament ranked 134th in driving distance at 294.8 yards and just 165th in holes per eagle at 288.

Gehman, however, expects plenty of production from Paul Casey, who tied for third at last year's WGC-Mexico Championship. The tournament has been played at Chapultepec for three years, and each time Casey has finished among the top 16.
