The 2020 Players Championship starts Thursday with myriad storylines at the forefront. None is bigger, of course, than Rory McIlroy rolling for his second win of the second season and his second consecutive Players title (something nobody has accomplished). He'll play with Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka in the afternoon, a pair of threats to his run at another championship. Among the other folks who could challenge are Bryson DeChambeau, Sungjae Im, Justin Thomas and Tommy Fleetwood.
As is always the case during the Players, TPC Sawgrass will be a big part of the story. This week's event -- no cakewalk -- might actually end up being the easiest of the four Florida tournaments. Still, if the wind kicks up and the greens bake a little bit, golfers will be at war with both themselves and one of Pete Dye's best works.
