What I’m Hearing: Baseball player Madison Bumgarner is secretly rodeo star USA TODAY

Mike Trout is the best baseball player of his generation, an already three-time MVP at 28 years old who will waltz into the Baseball Hall of Fame upon his retirement.

If for some reason the Los Angeles Angels star wants to break out into a different sport, though, he might have a future in long drive golf competitions.

In a video posted to the Angels' Twitter account, Trout was shown hitting a golf ball at Topgolf – the driving range chain with built-in games – as hard and as far as he possibly could.

He appears to literally hit it out of the arena.

Trout's Topgolf appearance appears to have been as part of an event put on by the Pujols Family Foundation – a non-profit started by Angels teammate Albert Pujols – at the Scottsdale, Arizona, Topgolf location. The Angels hold their spring training in nearby Tempe, Arizona.

Los Angeles Dodgers MVP Cody Bellinger was also at the event and also hit a ball impressively far, though we don't have a long enough video to see reaction to the moon-shot.

Turns out baseball players are good at hitting things.
